What connection does the company CompuServe have with gif's?
CompuServe introduced the .gif image file format in 1987. It was created by Steve Wilhite, a developer at CompuServe.
Please explain image optimization for the Web.
Image optimization is creating the best balance of picture quality and file size possible. Picture quality is easy to understand, but picture size is also important, because it determines how quickly a picture will render on your site. Keeping file size as small as possible to keep the quality you want is ideal.
How does screen resolution affect a website?
Screen resolution will affect how your site appears to a user. The lower the resolution, the smaller amout of pixels per amount of space there are. A higher resolution screen will display more, but it can also make things on your page smaller, sometimes too small.
What does it mean to be Section 508 compliant?
There are a lot of requirements to be Section 508 compliant, but overall what it is set out to do is to mandate that sites be accessible to users with disabilities, whether they be visual, auditory or any other.
